He was shocked to find that the web browser was disastrously unlike every other personal computing application, in being "just for consumption" with no authoring system attached, except for the decidedly mid-60s non-WYSIWYG markup languages that were like playing a musical instrument and then waiting for many seconds to see if one had guessed the notes right!
